PHOTOS: The Park City Hotel Where A Whole Lot Of Drama Went Down On 'The Bachelor' This Week

The fourth episode of this season of The Bachelor, which aired Monday night on ABC, brought fan-favorite Ben and the contestants to Park City, Utah.

It may have been a new location, but it was the same story: There was backstabbing, cat fights, a lot of tears, and plenty of “I think I’m falling in love with Ben.”

And, per usual, it all went down in super-luxe digs — Ben and the women were put up in the Waldorf Astoria Park City, an upscale hotel at The Canyons resort.

Check out photos of where the drama unfolded at the hotel after the jump.

The 13 women stayed in the Presidential Residence with beautiful mountain views (so they could watch Rachel take off  in a helicopter on a romantic date with Ben).

Kacie B. was feeling a bit neglected on the date, so Ben took her to his one-bedroom residence to remind her that he has feelings for her. In the next scene, he’s making out with Courtney. But don’t worry, Kacie B., he really likes all of the eleven women he’s dating!

WATCH: Ben Stiller And Jennifer Aniston Spoof 'The Bachelor' In Funny New Web Series

Sick of "The Bachelor"?

Ben Stiller joined forces with Yahoo! to produce "Burning Love," a parody of ABC's reality show.

The spoof, which is a full-fledged series run by Stiller, features Jennifer Aniston, Kristen Bell, Malin Akerman, and Ken Marino as a firefighter trying to find love.

The antics of the girls, Aniston in a panda suit and ("Community" fan alert) Ken Jeong in drag …  isn't a far stretch from some of the attention-grabbing stunts females have done to vie for the real Bachelor's affections

It's kind of scary how much the parody imitates real life. And it's hilarious.

The Only Guide You'll Need To Plan The Ultimate Bachelor Party In Los Angeles

$
0
0

guys drinking bachelor party

Want to gauge how cool your best friend’s future wife really is? Just tell her you’re planning beau-to-be’s bachelor party.

If she’s cool with that, they’ll be together forever. If she’s not, hey, at least he can look back on that one incredible night before he got locked up.

But we’re not talking any bachelor party. We’re talking one that folks will write songs about. One that preferably involves police sirens, little people on trampolines, horses, tassles, and enough booze to hospitalize a six-foot-seven African American lady dressed as Wonder Women (this will make more sense later).

It’s up to you to make sure he has the best send-off ever, so whether you already live in Los Angeles or you’re planning a trip with the boys, we’ve got you covered for a Hollywood (and surrounding) bachelor fest you’ll never remember.

It’s LA. Traffic is terrible. Get over it. You know what’s worse? Being the drunken idiot who blocks a busy street with his car after he gets pulled over by the cops for driving on the sidewalk. This is the last night you’d want to be behind the wheel—and cramming the boys into your ‘82 Civic is out—so make the donation rounds to the groomsmen and get a limo bus—preferably one with a bathroom in back. Trust us.

Get a Room

Doesn’t matter if you were born and raised here; get a hotel room or two. Sure, a two-bedroom suite at the famed Chateau Marmont starts at around five grand, but if you ever wanted proof that glamorous celebrities get as disgustingly sloppy when they party as everybody else, this is where to find it. Another stellar historic haunt is The Roosevelt Hotel right in the heart of Hollywood, which isn’t nearly as wallet-busting and houses several popular entertainment options, including multiple bars and a pool that promises to be more chlorine than pee until you guys get through with it.

Race Time!

Maybe you don’t know a thing about racing. Maybe you think a thoroughbred is just a really thick piece of toast. Who cares? Start the day early by banging down to the Hollywood Park Racetrack just three miles south of the LA airport or Santa Anita east of Downtown. Put a few bills on black at Hollywood Park’s onsite casino, then take your winnings and bet it all on whatever horse reminds you most of the future bride. Hopefully it’s not Bridle of Frankenstein or Will Run For Food.

Dinner

Doesn’t matter if your bro’s a foodie or not – you take him to Taco Bell for his bachelor dinner and you can kiss any groomsman role goodbye. And that means no bridesmaids. So man up! If you’re in a rush to get the night started, drop in to Wurstküche downtown, where exotic sausages like rattlesnake, duck, and alligator complement two dozen craft Belgian and German beers on tap.

Library Bar is also a cool nearby gastropub and lounge, or better yet, go with some tradition and dine like real gentlemen at Musso and Frank, a Hollywood institution with enough steak and whiskey on hand they should rename it Steaskey! Whisteak? We’ll work on it.

Drinks

After dinner, pop on over to Hemingway’s, one of the best bars in LA for specialty craft drinks, a swanky vibe, and vintage library digs with over ten thousand books stuffed onto towering floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. Reservations are a must – and perusing a few Cliffs Notes isn’t a bad idea either if you want to impress all the pretty ladies in attendance with your faux literary skills. Just remember this advice from the legendary womanizer for which the place is named, “always do sober what you said you’d do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut.” Also, Moby Dick is about a whale.

Party

Even if you didn’t book The Roosevelt, head on back there for a chance to experience one of the weirdest clubs in LA: the subterranean Beacher’s Madhouse, a throwback vaudeville-inspired spectacle where you’re as likely to see a little person fly through the air as a tiger, a dude dressed as Big Bird, and a six-foot-seven African American Wonder Woman traipse across the stage (now it makes sense!).

Advanced reservations are equally important at this speakeasy-meets-asylum hotspot, but it’s totally worth the prep. Just remember one of the house rules: You can’t feed alcohol to the little people. And even though they are dressed the part, calling them Oompa Loompas is totally not cool, dude. Don’t be that guy.

After Party

Once the show is over, it’s time for the real traditions to begin. But don’t settle for just any strip club, gentlemen. Even though LA can’t compete with Las Vegas for its sheer quantity of scantily clad joints, there’s still Crazy Girls in Hollywood, where everybody—from the bouncers to the DJs to the girls themselves—is usually ripped from open to close. Introduce your boy to Candy, Tiffany, Sunshine, Autumn, and Destiny, and let him disappear for the next hour or so.

For a slightly tamer but still ridiculously sexy experience, get over to Jumbo’s Clown Room, where the women might not be totally naked but the bikinis are small, the burlesque leaves little to the imagination, and you can buy your boy a few more rides at his last rodeo.

Cap it all off with a few to-go orders from Canter’s Deli, where the pastrami is magic and plenty of dolled-up A-listers stumble in at 5am to unapologetically stuff their faces. Dust the crumbs off back in your hotel, or screw the hotel all together and have the limo take you, the little people, the tiger, Wonder Woman, and the trailing drunken crazy strippers up to the famed Griffith Observatory in Griffith Park, where you can watch the sun rise over the rest of your forever after perfect life.

Why Recent Graduates Are Moving Back Home In Droves

Student loan debt is rising — now enough to feed every homeless person in the country for 50 years — yet unemployment numbers among college graduates are the highest it's been in the past 11 years.

The solution?

It's becoming the norm for young people to move back in with their parents. In fact, 53 percent of 18-to-24 year olds are living with their parents, and 85 percent of college seniors plan on moving back home after graduation.

The infographic below — created by College@home — illustrates the current situation:

Cosmo's Lawyer 'Bachelor Of The Year' Gives The Most Awkward Interview Ever

$

ryan Chenevert bachelor of the year

Cosmopolitan Magazine's newest Bachelor of the Year competed against Olympic athletes and a professional soccer player, but he thinks his legal background is what really set him over the edge.

In a rather uncomfortable yet obviously tongue-in-cheek interview with 225 Magazine, Baton Rouge attorney Ryan Chenevert revealed how he won the women's magazine's coveted title.

"You know I ask myself that quite a bit," Chenevert said in an interview released last week. "An attorney, especially one that just came out of law school, I think they were kind of shocked at what they saw."

In his entry to the competition, Chenevert told Cosmo his celebrity crush is Heidi Klum, and he isn't looking to settle down until he's 28.

"I'm endearing, quirky, driven, and loyal to every woman I've dated," he told the women's magazine.

Chenevert, who says he's 25 and "in my prime," graduated from Lousiana State University's Hebert Law Center and passed the state bar in October, Above The Law reported at the time.

Currently he's working as a judicial clerk for the 23rd Judicial District and has also clerked for the Office of the District attorney for the 19th Judicial District, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Above The Law was one of the first to announce Chenevert won the competition.

But it's the bachelor's most recent interview with 225 Magazine that had us cringing.

Chenevert and local actor Caleb Michaelson, the interviewer, spent most of the interview discussing each other's bodies and Chenevert's sexy looks.

Michaelson asked Chenevert to "seduce me with a look" and at one point lifted his own shirt to ask the newest "It" bachelor whether he could win the competition as well.

Check out the full interview for yourself, courtesy of 225 Magazine:

Chenevert competed against track and field Olympic medalist Kerron Clement and professional soccer player Lance Parker.

Desiree Hartsock Bachelorette

"Bachelor" Sean Lowe may have chosen Catherine Giudici as his bride, but contestant Desiree Hartsock, 26, is still winning.

The Los Angeles-based bridal stylist from Colorado, who made it to the final four, was announced as the ninth "Bachelorette" during Monday's “After The Final Rose” special.

Hartsock was sent home from "The Bachelor" after her brother called Lowe a “playboy” during her hometown date.

But Hartsock didn't always have a home to go to.

During a one-on-one date in a teepee, Hartsock opened up to Lowe about how she had sometimes lived in a tent or trailer park with her family during difficult times growing up — while her Northglenn, CO. classmates lived in million-dollar homes.

But, Desiree explained as she captured the hearts of viewers, love was always present in her home — which is what has always been most important to her.

Desiree Hartsock Bachelorette

Here's a few other things we learned about the Katie Holmes look-a-like from her official "Bachelor" bio,

  • If you could be someone else for just one day, who would it be and why?

"An Olympic champion to know what it feels like to physically work so hard to be the best in the world at something and have all that hard work pay off."

  • What is your favorite all-time book and why?

"'Eat, Pray, Love' because it's a personal journey of overcoming and finding love and happiness along the way."

  • I love it when my date...

"Isn't trying to be someone else or act different to impress me. When they can be candid and goofy and let the date proceed naturally."

And according to her Instagram, here's her words of wisdom: "Happiness keeps you sweet, Trials keep you strong, Success keeps you growing, But Only God keeps you going."

BORN AGAIN VIRGIN: The Bachelor's Brilliant Marketing Ploy That Led To Record Ratings

$
0
0

Sean Lowe The BachelorSean Lowe started cycle 17 of "The Bachelor" with 26 tanned, toned, buffed and puffed women literally lined up for his choosing.

After 13 episodes of group dates, one-on-one dates, hometown trips and "fantasy suites," Lowe ultimately got down on one knee to propose Monday night to 26-year-old graphic designer Catherine Giuduci.

What his new fiancé undoubtedly knows, as does the rest of America — but was oddly left out of the ABC show's story lines  is that the religious Lowe is a born-again virgin.

According to UrbanDictionary, a "Born Again Virgin" means "More than a year between sexual relations, with anyone else" or "Someone in denial. Usually too stupid to realize it's a moot point."

Wikipedia puts it more politely: "An individual can claim to be a born-again virgin, secondary virgin or renewed virgin if, after having engaged in sexual intercourse, s/he makes a commitment not to be sexually active until marriage (or some other point in the future, or indefinitely), whether for religious, moral or practical reasons."

While the show strayed away from discussing Lowe's born-again status and instead zoomed in on his lengthy make out sessions with various contestants, Us Weekly dubbed him "The Virgin Bachelor," reporting that Lowe swore off sex after college.

Sean Lowe The Bachelor

"Lowe is a born-again virgin, a development the 'Bachelor' cameras mostly ignored. It’s a mystery why a series built on sex wouldn’t explore its central character’s not having sex," writes The Daily Beast's Ramin Setoodeh. "Instead of telling us what made him different [from] all the previous bachelors, the show edited Lowe to look like every other guy."

While trying to answer the question "Why Did ‘The Bachelor’ Hide Sean Lowe’s Born-Again Virginity?" Setoodeh writes, "The women on 'The Bachelor' were more conservative than the usual single ladies who party at the house. Many of them arrived with their Bibles in hand. A lot of their talk about Christianity didn’t make the broadcast."

When The Beast reached out to "Bachelor" reps for comment, a publicist for the show said producers weren’t available.

But what ABC kept secret about Lowe's sexuality was made up for in tabloid reports, even if the man at the center of attention doesn't understand what all the hulabaloo is about.

“I’m shocked,” Lowe told The Beast. “I don’t know why every tabloid feels the need to talk about it.”

Of the born-again virgin label, he said, “I’ve never described myself that way,” though he later clarified, “it’s true. It’s a decision that I’ve made. But I don’t think it needs to be discussed on the show. For me, it’s a non-story.”

“Reality Steve” Carbone, who writes about "The Bachelor" on his blog, thinks ABC skirted the issue because “They don’t like to delve into deep issues on the show. It’s very superficial. It’s much more about the drama than about ‘Are these people spiritually connected and will they be married for the next 50 years?’ It’s very flimsy. Does it surprise me? No.”

“I don’t know if ABC is hiding it,” said Eric Andersson, a senior writer at Us Weekly who covers "The Bachelor."“I don’t think they are playing it up as much as they could.”

But whether ABC is trying to hide it or not, the tabloid reports worked and this season's "Bachelor"ratings were up by 3 percent to 8.8 million in total viewers.

The average audience for that group among ABC’s regularly scheduled shows is only 2.4 million viewers, reports The NY Times.

As for what's next for the former "Bachelor" and his bride, a televised wedding is in the works; but, he said today during a press call, "I doubt Chris Harrison ["Bachelor" host] will be officiating [our wedding] only because my dad and grandfather are ordained ministers."

A Bachelor Party In New Mexico Found A 3 Million-Year-Old Elephant Skull

A group of friends on a stag do made an unlikely discovery while out walking on a beach in New Mexico - a perfectly preserved three-million-year-old elephant skull.

The party was on a hike in Elephant Butte Lake State Park near Albuquerque when they spotted what looked like a bone emerging from the sand.

The friends began digging until the skull surfaced.

Antonia Gradillas, 33, who was out with the group celebrating a friend’s upcoming wedding when they made the find earlier this month, said: “As we were walking we saw a bone sticking out about one or two inches from the ground.”

They thought they had found a woolly mammoth and sent photographs they took of it to the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science.

As it turned out, they were not too far off. The skull was found to belong to a stegomastodon – a prehistoric ancestor of today’s elephants and one much older than the woolly mammoth, which dates back to the Ice Age.

An archaeology group went down to the beach and packaged the skull, which weighs more than 1,000 pounds, in a cast before transporting it to the museum, where it will be studied and eventually put on display.

Mastodons – relatives of the elephant – stood 10 feet tall and migrated to North America around 15 million years ago, before becoming extinct about 10,000 years ago.

Experts believe receding water exposed the skull, which they say is the most complete of its kind and could shed more light on the mammal.

Gary Morgan, a paleontologist at the museum, estimated that the creature uncovered by Mr Gradillas and his friends likely stood about 9ft tall, weighed more than six tons and was about 50 years old when it died.

"This mastodon find is older than the woolly mammoth that tread the Earth in the Ice Age. It probably died on a sandbar of the ancient Rio Grande River," he said.

“It was living, drinking, feeding alongside the ancient Rio Grande three million years ago,” he said.

“This is far and away the best one we’ve ever found.”

Mr Gradillas said of the find: “This is the coolest thing ever. Some people with PhDs in this field might not even have this kind of opportunity. We were so lucky.”

Wall Streeters Call This Guy To Plan Their Wildest Bachelor Parties

$

Lee Abbamonte

We learned a lot of things from New York Magazine's interview with Lee Abbamonte, the city's most lavish bachelor party planner.

For example, Soviet-era tank riding is really desirable, and strippers are "pretty cliché" among the wealthy bachelors he calls clients.

Abbamonte, a 35-year-old self-described "global adventurer," plans $10,000+ per person bachelor parties, mostly for Wall Street guys or very private celebrities.

The travel expert (he was the youngest American to visit every country at 32) started planning the parties in 2008 after getting requests from strangers after blogging about his own adventures.

In his interview with New York's The Cut, he shared that Kiev, of all places, is a top city to have an over-the-top bachelor party due to its late Eastern European nights (ending around 7 a.m.), cheap liquor ($20 bottles), and G.I. Joe-esque adventures like driving tanks and shooting things.

At Abbamonte's parties, bachelor party standbys like steak and strippers are a bore. He says he veers toward things with more "shock value," like zip lining, ATV riding, and bungee jumping.

But that doesn't mean women aren't involved. He notes the importance of "hot tour guides," and extols Krakow for its oil-wrestling girls.

The craziest party he ever planned took place in Las Vegas, and cost more than $20,000 per person. Activities included a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon, racing non-street-legal Ferraris at 180 mph, shooting machine guns in the Mojave desert, BASE jumping 829 feet from the Stratosphere Hotel, and flying F-16 fighter jets.

7 bachelor-party rules so you don't wake up sunburnt and stuck on a roof

party drunk binge drinking shots alcohol

Friends don't let friends walk down the aisle without a memorable "last night of freedom."

But before you start stuffing your wallet with singles, there are some rules you should know for bachelor parties.

Heed these tips and you'll actually remember all the fun you're about to have.

RULE #1: If you're the best man, you're the party planner.

First order of business: Find out what the groom wants to do. Does he want to tear up Las Vegas, or would he rather sit around with his buds and smoke cigars? Not all bachelor parties involve tons of booze and strippers. If he doesn't want strippers (perhaps because of an agreement with his fiancée), don't "surprise" him. Once the groom decides the night's festivities, it's your job to make them happen.

RULE #2: The groom pays for nothing.

All costs should be split equally among those attending the party. So if you're going away for the weekend, start saving your pennies. Best man: It's your responsibility to collect the money, so start early.

RULE #3: The guest list is the groom's call.

Some grooms want to invite family, friends, and colleagues, while others want only friends. Bottom line: It's his call. If you have a problem with someone on the guest list, remember why you both are there and avoid conflict.

RULE #4: No hazing.

Do not embarrass the groom and certainly do not put him in danger, unless you want to explain to the bride why her soon-to-be-husband is wearing a cast.

hangover

RULE #5: Don't act as if you're at a frat party.

A few shots in honor of the groom is fine. Chasing shots by shotgunning beers? Probably not. As I said earlier, you want the groom to actually remember his last night of freedom. Drink and be merry, but if the groom ends up sunburned on a rooftop in Las Vegas, you've gone too far.

Tequila Shots

RULE #6: Figure out transportation before the night (or weekend) starts.

Best man: Put this on your growing to-do list. Plan how guests will get to and from the destination — especially when alcohol is involved. Having a member of your crew commit to being the designated driver is great, but if no one's volunteering, you need to arrange for car service. Remember: the groom pays for nothing.

RULE #7: The party isn't over until the groom says it's over.

If the groom wants to stay a little longer, you stay. If he wants to leave, you leave. If he thinks you're drinking too much, you switch to water. Without the groom there would be no bachelor party, so he is in charge of everything.

Prince Philippos of Greece

Royal bachelors and bachelorettes are flying off the market.

Since we last rounded up the world's most eligible royals, in 2012, seven have either married or become engaged. Most recently, Sweden's Prince Carl Philip created a media frenzy when he wed a reality TV star

But as one royal puts a ring on it, another enters the international dating game.

Here are the world's 14 most eligible royals, hailing from Great Britain all the way to Thailand.

Aly Weisman contributed to an earlier version of this post.

Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana of Thailand

The 28-year old princess is the daughter of the Crown Prince Maha Vajralongkorn.

She was educated at Chalalongkorn University, where she received a degree in Fine Arts.

In 2007, she was invited to show her collection at Paris Fashion Week. She debuted another collection the following year, gaining a royal presence within the fashion world. Recently, she decided to rename Tachai Island — part of the Similan Islands in the Andaman Sea — "Sirivannavari," after herself.

Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales

Prince Harry is 30 years old and fifth in line for the throne.

The second son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, he made headlines for a few scandalous adventures during his teenage years but has since calmed down.

Harry is an officer in the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and was commissioned in a regiment of the Household Cavalry in the British Army. The younger brother of Prince William has publicly dated Chelsy Davy, who was his date to his brother's wedding. Lately he's been spotted with "Doctor Who" star Jenna Coleman.

Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary of York

Princess Beatrice is 26 years old and seventh in line for the throne.

She is the elder daughter of Prince Andrew of York and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York. She graduated from the University of London with a degree in history. In early 2015, she left her job as a coordinating producer at Sony's London office. The departure came shortly after her salary (allegedly £19,500) was revealed by hackers.

Often called "the party princess," she is the only member of the Royal Family to have completed the London Marathon.

Women pay tens of thousands of dollars to compete on ‘The Bachelor’

Agreeing to be a contestant on ABC's "The Bachelorette" or "The Bachelor" might seem like an easy commitment. All you have to do is throw some of your belongings in a suitcase, fly to Los Angeles and go on a number of dates — maybe even find love. Easy peasy, right? Wrong.

Besides having to compete for the someone's attention with 25 other people, as well as having every one of your interactions broadcasted on television — including but not limited to eating a whole sweet potato — both the ladies and the competing on "The Bachelor" have to dish out a hefty sum of cash prior to arriving to the California mansion, as Mic previously reported in January.

Take Olivia Caridi for example: the 23-year-old news anchor who competed for Ben Higgins' heart on the 20th season of "The Bachelor." She supposedly spent "like, $40,000 on clothes" and also became known as the girl left on an island.

But, what about the dudes who are trying to find love on "The Bachelorette?" Are they spending just as much as the women even though they don't need a sparkly, cut-out dress for every single rose ceremony? Can't they just simply throw on the same suit each week?

As it turns out, they too often have to drop some cash — although, not nearly as much.

bachelorette boys

The men require less clothing than women: Contestants need outfits for ten weeks of rose ceremonies in addition to dates that can range from a casual day usually involving a hot tub to a romantic dinner followed by a private concert.

"[Packing] is one of the hardest things to do!" Higgins said in an interview. "I had a bunch of people over to my house to help me pack and pick out clothes."

While the ladies, need around ten dresses (unless they plan on swapping) men are told to only bring 2-3 suits with "a few different shirts, and ties so that they could be mixed and matched" Joshua Albers, who vied for Kaitlyn Bristowe's heart along with Higgins on season 11, said in an interview.

Men aren't completely off the financial hook. In an exclusive promo obtained by Glamour, of the dudes packing for the current season airing on ABC, Chad Johnson, a luxury real estate agent who was eliminated week four, explains how he "probably overdid things a little bit," adding, "I spent like seven grand on clothes just for this."

As seen in the video, as long as it fits into their allotted two suitcases, the men can bring as many as they want. "I think I have like six suits," Christian Bishop, a telecom consultant who was eliminated at week three said in the video. "I was only told to bring two."

Albers did, in fact, bring two suits, along with three shirts and three ties. He estimates that he spent about $1,000 for the suits, including having them tailored.

Others, like Higgins, simply recycled the pieces that they brought. "I always re-wore suits to the rose ceremonies," he said. "If I didn't re-wear a whole suit I would switch up the jacket with pants or maybe go jacket-less. The guys often share suits as well if they are the same size."

"I think [buying a new wardrobe] is a personal preference," he adds. "I bought a new suit and also purchased some new T-shirt, dress shirts, etc. But, I didn't go overboard at all. I do know that someone spent $4,000 on clothes though."

But the ladies are still dropping more cash. "Women's gowns are far more than a guys suit," Albers said. "A lot of the guys have to wear suits for their career already, so they didn't have to buy much of anything unless they wanted. I'm a welder, so I had nothing remotely close to what's required for a rose ceremony."

But it's not just clothing that women are spending more on. Prior to the show, many women get extensions, acrylics and spray tans, while the guys often focus on their hair.

Although the women have to buy more, many are in fact gifted clothing prior to the show for publicity. Additionally, "The Bachelor" has become a launching point for the ladies' careers, specifically in the fashion world. Back in May, Bristowe released a clothing line, while Dorfman designed a T-shirt with Southward Apparel back in September. Besides clothing collections, BristoweHarris and Hartstock are just some of the previous bachelorettes to have since launched style related blogs.

How much do the clothes even matter? As much as you might not want to believe it, people do judge books by their covers.

"Clothing is absolutely a factor [for attraction] for it changes the appearance of a person [and] influences the impression of what one thinks about another,"Dr. Karen Ruskin, a marriage and family therapist, explained in an interview. "The fact is, visual is the first thing we 'see' before we experience anything else. Certain colors affect one's experience of the person (e.g., light blue is warm and inviting to have a dialogue, red represents power, whether the outfit is tight fitting to the body or loose fitting can invite thoughts of sexuality vs. relaxing laid back, etc.)"

It might be a factor, but that doesn't mean it affects the outcomes of the shows. "The funny thing is, Ben [Higgins] and all of the other guys don't give a sh*t!!! I bet you they don't even notice a difference," Jillian Harris, the lead of season 5 of "The Bachelorette," previously wrote on her website. (You're saying Lauren B.'s Cinderella-like dress didn't leave a lasting impression?!)

"I mean its the look good, feel good, date good kinda thing right?" Higgins said. "I do think clothes help a person look better and feel better so in that since they may be more confident going on dates or being themselves."

So, will "The Bachelor" or the "The Bachelorette" cost an arm and a leg? Yes, likely so. But chances are you'll find love or, at least, people will be talking about you on Twitter on Monday nights until the next season comes around and you're forgotten about.

Plus, you get a gift bag. And who doesn't love a gift bag?

Here's why you'll never see 'The Bachelor' contestants eat food

One of the most annoying parts about "The Bachelor" franchise — and there are several — is watching as the contestants mindlessly chatter about their fictional futures together over a plate of untouched food.

I mean, case in point:

bachelorette bachelor food

One-on-one dates will often end in some sort of dinner or dessert component, which is laid out romantically with gorgeous candles, flowers, and ample alcohol. And yet, the contestants never seem to get to try any of it.

Many fans have noticed the phenomenon themselves:

But now, thanks to some in-depth reporting by Alyssa Hertzig at Refinery 29, we have an answer for why they never seem to eat — the producers fill them up before the date even starts so they’ll do less chewing and more talking about how much they love each other.

"The food on dates is usually good, but the catch is that you aren't supposed to eat it! No one wants to watch people stuffing their face on a date. If you're eating, you aren’t talking,” Jaclyn Swartz, who has appeared on Ben Flajnik’s season of the "Bachelor," along with "Bachelor Pad" and "Bachelor in Paradise," told Refinery 29. “Instead, we eat before the dates, as we are getting ready. The producers will bring room service to your room, or a plate of food to where you're getting ready in the house."

Some of the food prepared to be seen on-camera is still too good to pass up, so Ashley Spivey, a contestant on Brad Womack’s season of "The Bachelor," explains that sometimes the contestants or Bachelor/Bachelorette will chow down while their date is giving a one-on-one interview with a producer.

bachelorette jojo

"You have to remember that the dinner portion can last two to three hours," says Spivey. "You usually talk and start eating. Then, a producer will pull you aside to do a one-on-one interview. Then, you go back to eat while the other person is doing their one-on-one interview. This is when you stuff your face and hurry and eat before the other person gets back."

The one thing they get to do a ton of though on-camera? Drink!

You can read the full in-depth piece on “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” contestants’ eating habits — which is fascinating, I promise — over on Refinery 29.
